With the license plate 2862-G7, this Renault taxi played a pivotal role in the "Marne taxis" episode of early September 1914 during World War I. Used to transport French troops to the River Ourcq, it was part of a fleet that significantly contributed to halting the German advance in the Battle of the Marne. The taxis symbolized French resilience and ingenuity in foiling the Schlieffen Plan. Renovated in 2005, the taxi now stands in its original colors, commemorating this extraordinary moment in military history.

The Paris Army Museum opens from 10 am to 6 pm, everyday. On the last Friday of the month, the museum opens from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Take bus line 28 and drop at Rue Cler which is around 550 m away from the attraction.

Drive down the Av. du Maréchal Gallieni route from Opera Garnier. It is around 3.1 km in distance and will take 15 minutes or so to reach.

Paris Army Museum is a large facility, so it's a good idea to prioritize and see the locations within the museum that are most interesting to you.

If you are interested in the World War history, make sure to spend your time primarily on the WW-I and WW-II displays.

WOW! Für mich neben dem Besuch der Oper Garniers DAS Erlebnis beim meinem Paris Trip. Tolle Lichtshow welche perfekt auf die Proportionen des Gebäudes abgestimmt war. Spitzenmäßige musikalische Untermalung mit sakralen Klängen und alles in unglaublich Geschichtsträchtiger Atmosphäre. Ich wäre am liebsten bei der nach uns folgenden Vorstellung gleich noch mal mit rein. 

WOW! For me, besides the visit to the Garnier Opera, THE experience on my Paris trip. Great light show which was perfectly matched to the proportions of the building. Excellent background music with sacred sounds and everything in an incredibly historic atmosphere. I would have loved to go back for the performance that followed us.

Amazing combination of information, music and visuals. It was truly an immersive experience into the history of the Dom and I never thought I would get so blown away by this place.

Wonderful event.  The sound and light show under the dome was magical and a different way to experience space.  Architecturally and historically beautiful.  Very pleased I was able to experience it.

Tip: Step into Rodin's former studio, where he worked on many of his famous sculptures. It provides a fascinating glimpse into the artist's creative process.

The museum and grounds are absolutely beautiful and this is an extensive collection of Rodin's incredible work with surprises as well. Be forewarned, there's no AC and it gets stuffy so dress appropriately, but do not leave this off your itenerary while in Paris. 

It's been all chopped up and there is not clear signage to let you know if you are headed in the right direction. We had to stop and ask multiple times. Also missed the large room with all of the halberts. Disappointed, as it was a big reason for our visit. 

The restrooms adjacent to the museum store were not handicap accessible. The elevator could not be called from the lower level where the restrooms were located. In addition, there was no soap or paper towels in the women's restroom.

That put a damper on seeing the wonderful exhibits and Napolean's tomb.

I did not expect how amazing it is! The hidden gem! Must visit! Plan at least an hour for a quick visit or at least 2 hours to see all the exhibitions in detail. 

Hotel des Invalides and army museum were visited. Buying tickets online athead of time was convenient and reasonable.  Would suggest at least 2-3 hours to visit the whole complex. Longer if you are a history / war history enthusiast.
There was a wedding going on in the center plaza which was actually one of the highlights to watch.
