Closest Station: Palais Royal Musée du Louvre

Bus routes 21, 24, 27, 39, 48, 68, 69, 72, 81, and 95 will get you to the Louvre Museum. There are two bus stops right outside the museum - Louvre Rivoli and Palais Royal Musée du Louvre. From the Châtelet les Halles train station, walk a few meters to the Pont Neuf bus stop and alight at Palais Royal.

There are 2 metro stops located just outside the museum - Palais Royal Musée du Louvre and Louvre Rivoli. This is an easy and efficient way to get to the museum, with its entrances close to the metro stops. Palais Royal runs on lines 1 and 7, while Louvre Rivoli runs on line 1.

Getting to the Louvre Museum by taxi is fast and convenient. The drop-off point is at the Carrousel roundabout, which is very close to the Carrousel entrance of the museum. Driving to the Louvre Museum is one of the faster ways to reach. From the Châtelet Les Halles train station, the museum is about 7 to 10 minutes away. 

There are two routes you can take to reach the museum - the faster one is via Rue du Louvre, while the other is via Rue Étienne Marcel. 

Both routes are time efficient, however, parking is not available at the museum. Parking space is provided only for disabled persons with a valid ID.

Saemes Parking Pyramides: This car park is about 500 meters from the museum. It will take you approximately 7 minutes to reach the museum from here.

Parking Public: From this car park, the museum is about 300 meters away. Depending on which route you take, it will take you between 3 to 4 minutes to reach the museum.

Parking Indigo Paris Louvre: This parking facility is located about 500 meters away from the museum. It will take you roughly 6 to 7 minutes to reach the museum from here.

Parkering Louvre: Located about 350 meters away from the Louvre, this car park is a quick 5-minute walk from the museum.

If you’re not pressed for time and want to explore the city, you can walk to the Louvre Museum. From Châtelet Les Halles train station, the museum is just over a kilometer away. Take in the sights and sounds of the vibrant city of Paris as you stroll through its bustling streets. Head south from the train station until you reach the Rue St. Honoré road. Take a right from here until you reach the Rue de L'Oratoire junction. Head south again until you reach the Rue de Rivoli road and walk right towards the Palais Royal Musée du Louvre metro station. You’ll be able to see the iconic pyramid from here. Stop at a cafe on your way to have a traditional Parisian treat or coffee.

Best Ways to Get to The Louvre Museum

Budget-friendly: If you want to get around Paris without spending too much money, we recommend using the well-connected metro lines. The Louvre has two metro stations right outside the museum. This saves money and is also the fastest way to get to the Louvre.

Fastest route: Although taking the metro is a quick way to get to the museum, taking a taxi is also one of the fastest ways to get to the museum. The closest pick-up point is at Place A. Malraux.

Sightseeing: If you’re not on a time-crunch, we recommend walking to the Louvre. The museum is located on the right bank of the Seine. You can take a stroll along the banks of the river on your way to the museum and take in the beautiful scenery.

Once you reach the museum, you might find it tricky to locate the right entrance. There are four main entrances to the museum, the Pyramid being the main entrance.
