Museum

The Galerie de Valois (east), Galerie de Montpensier (west), and Galerie Beaujolais are the three gorgeous arcades that surround the Jardin du Palais Royal, making it the ideal place to rest, reflect, and enjoy a picnic amid boxed hedges (north). The neoclassical Palais Royal, built in 1633 by Cardinal Richelieu but largely dating from the late 18th century, stands in front of this magnificent urban area.

Interesting Fact: Three years after the galleries opened, on a warm mid-July day in the Galerie de Montpensier, the Revolution erupted in the Café du Foy.
