They also had not only gladiator fights, but animals such as elephants, giraffes and lions. 2000 years ago it was difficult for aristocrats, who have come from other countries to explain to their families when they return - what they saw. 🦒🐘 ⚔️ At that time, most people did not know about the existence of elephants and giraffes. The coliseum alone had more than 50,000 seats. And the other interesting thing was, Caesar never stood there because he died long before the Colosseum was built. Our tour guide was phenomenal. Convenient to do both together. Very small queue. For Concergerie the i-pad showing how the rooms looked centuries ago was interesting. Sainte-Chapelle must have the most beautiful gift shop anywhere. You have to hunt for the narrow stairs that take you to the chapel itself. Not overly crowded.

This is a delightful smaller museum that is not to be missed! Entry with my ticket was very quick and easy. I was given a tablet to use to scan different spots throughout the museum. Tapping on the pictures brings up fascinating information about the Conciergerie throughout the ages. It's a beautiful location that was especially pleasant during this Paris heat wave because in addition to its thick medieval walls, it's partially underground. Plenty of benches throughout the museum to rest while viewing the information on my tablet. The Conciergerie is a can't-miss if you want to visit a beautiful and ancient place that doesn't have large crowds. Highly recommend!
