There is no dress code that visitors must follow, however, inappropriate clothing just as swimsuits are not allowed. Additionally, footwear is a must. So you can wear your finest outfit or be as casual as you like!

Pets and Guide Dogs

All service animals are allowed inside the Louvre Museum. Pets, however, are not allowed into the attraction. You cannot walk your pets in the gardens as well.

Health Safety Measures

Guests are recommended to wear face masks while inside the museum. They are also recommended to maintain social distancing of at least 1.5 meters from other visitors. All equipment such as audio guides, wheelchairs, and strollers provided by the museum are disinfected after each use.

Forbidden Items

There are numerous items that are forbidden from being taken into the museum. This includes all types of weapons and ammunition, tools such as clippers, pliers, wrenches, and screwdrivers, blunt objects such as baseball bats and self-defense batons, explosive flammable, or volatile substances, electric weapons, and aerosols that may contain substances that can damage the artworks or building.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all the enclosed areas of the Louvre Museum. Since the tickets are valid for the entire day, guests can exit the building to smoke, and re-enter at any time that they wish.

Lost and Found

If you’ve lost something, you can head over to the help desk located under the pyramid. A member of the staff will assist you in finding the lost item. If you have already left the museum, you can fill out a report form online here.

Photography

Photography in the permanent exhibitions of Louvre Museum is allowed for personal use. However, note that selfie sticks are not allowed, and flash and lighting equipment cannot be used. In the temporary galleries, the photography of certain works of art may be prohibited.

Lockers are available at the Louvre Museum. However, they are quite small in size and are not big enough to hold large suitcases and bags. The lockers are ideal for storing small bags and handbags.
