The Best Spots To Watch The Disney Illuminations

Disney Illuminations

Middle of Main Street, U.S.A.

Located just after the entrance to Disneyland Park, Main Street USA is one of the best spots to catch the Disneyland Paris fireworks, which is why it happens to be the most crowded one as well. Make sure you reach about an hour in advance for a good viewing spot. Watch the show from Main Street Railroad Station or from behind the Walt Disney and Mickey statue (it is a less popular and less crowded spot). If you want to stay a little farther away from the sound system and lights, find a spot between the castle and the end of Main Street. The park also puts up a few projections onto the buildings on Main Street USA.

Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge

For a more wholesome and relaxed experience of the Disneyland Paris fireworks, head to Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge. Located on the top level of Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland, the Skyline Lounge offers a reserved dining area, a delicious meal, drinks, dessert, games, and an amazing view of the fireworks. Reserve a table in the balcony area and witness the skies light up while enjoying your meal. You won’t be able to see the projections, but you can definitely hear the music and see the fireworks in all their glory without having to stand or deal with huge crowds.

Disney Illuminations

In front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle

Located at the end of the main street inside Fantasyland, Sleeping Beauty Castle is another extremely popular spot to catch the fireworks, probably even better than Main Street USA. Witness the most spectacular and jaw-dropping projections of Disney characters onto the castle walls as the skies light up with a display of fireworks. If you want to view the illuminations from the front, you’ll have to reach the spot at least 2-3 hours in advance. If not, then at least an hour before the show.

Disney Illuminations

It’s A Small World

A little less popular than Main Street USA and the Sleeping Beauty Castle, It’s A Small World inside Fantasyland offers some of the most striking views of Disneyland Paris fireworks. The projections on the large façade ensure that you enjoy an experience similar to the one in front of the castle. Plus, there are benches and steps in case you want to sit back and enjoy Disney Illuminations. Reach the location about an hour before the show for the best seats.

Disney Illuminations

Star Wars: Galaxy Edge

This is another great location and a less crowded one to watch Disney Illuminations from. It’s a behind-the-scenes kind of situation because you’re technically experiencing fireworks from behind. You will also not be able to see the special effects, projections, seasonal snoap, or even hear the music. But it is still one of the best spots to view the fireworks because you’re so close to all the action. Watch it from the Black Spire Outpost – the fireworks in the skies overlooking the spires and the Millennium Falcon will make you feel like you’re in some Star Wars movie.

How To Enjoy Disney Illuminations?

For a smooth and hassle-free experience, make sure you book your Disneyland Paris tickets online and well in advance. Your entry ticket includes access to all the attractions as well as the fireworks show that takes place every night at 9:30 PM. So, you don’t have to worry about buying separate tickets to experience the most magical illuminations the park has to offer.

The best viewing spots are from Main Street USA and in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. However, if you want to stay away from crowds or have a more wholesome and relaxed experience, you can view the fireworks from Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge or the several rooftop bars and restaurants in the theme park over a delicious meal and drink. Make sure to book a table in advance though.
